Glenn Ferguson Knows Every Wedding Location in the Bahamas
I'm Glenn Ferguson. Over the past 24 years, I've officiated weddings at every major venue and beach across the Bahamas โ from the semi-private sands of Nuptial Beach in Nassau to the pink shores of Harbour Island and the sandbars of Exuma.
This guide shares what I've learned from 200+ ceremonies: which locations photograph best at which time of day, which beaches have calm water vs waves, which resorts charge venue fees and which don't, and exactly where to stand for the best ceremony backdrop. These are the details a website can't tell you โ but a planner who has been barefoot on every one of these beaches can.
16 Top Bahamas Wedding Locations by Island
Nassau Wedding Locations โ Glenn's Home Island
Nassau is where Glenn lives and works. It's the easiest island for destination weddings: direct flights from most US and Canadian cities in under 3 hours, the Registrar General's Office for your marriage license is right here, and the widest variety of venues in the Bahamas โ from free public beaches to world-class resorts. Glenn has performed more weddings on these six Nassau locations than anywhere else.
1. Nuptial Beach, Western Nassau
This is where I perform most of my weddings. Nuptial Beach is a semi-private stretch on the western tip of Nassau with calm turquoise water, soft white sand, and natural shade from casuarina trees. Far fewer crowds than Cable Beach or Cabbage Beach. The western exposure gives you the best sunset ceremonies in Nassau โ I know the exact spot where golden light hits the water at 5:30 PM in winter and 7:00 PM in summer.
Cost: No beach fee. Included in all Glenn's Nassau packages from $1,495.

2. Cable Beach, Nassau
The most famous beach in Nassau โ a long, wide stretch of white sand lined by the Baha Mar resort complex. Cable Beach works for both intimate elopements and larger weddings with reception options at the resorts. The sand is firm enough for chairs and arbors, and the water is typically calm. Glenn recommends the eastern section near Goodman Bay for fewer crowds, or the Baha Mar beachfront for resort-backed ceremonies.
Cost: Beach is free. Baha Mar venue fees from $2,500+ for resort spaces. Glenn's beach-only packages from $1,495.

3. Baha Mar Resort Complex, Cable Beach
Three resorts in one: the Grand Hyatt, Rosewood, and SLS. Each has a different character. The Grand Hyatt is the largest with ballrooms and beachfront terraces. Rosewood offers refined elegance with garden courtyards and the Manor Bar for cocktail receptions. SLS is modern and stylish with the Monkey Bar and rooftop spaces. Glenn works with all three properties and knows which spaces photograph best.
Cost: Venue fees $2,500-$15,000+ depending on space and guest count.

4. Graycliff Hotel, Downtown Nassau
A colonial-era mansion in the heart of Nassau, built in 1740. Graycliff is for couples who want something different from a beach wedding โ think garden courtyards, a world-famous wine cellar, and old-world Bahamian charm. The poolside garden holds up to 60 guests. Graycliff also has one of the finest restaurants in Nassau, so your reception dinner is sorted. Glenn recommends this for couples who want elegance without the resort feel.
Cost: Venue hire from $1,500-$5,000. Dinner reception packages available.

5. Goodman Bay Park, Nassau
A public park at the eastern end of Cable Beach with shaded pavilions, barbecue areas, and a wide beach. Goodman Bay is ideal for weddings with a casual reception โ you can set up chairs on the beach for the ceremony and use the shaded pavilion for food and drinks after. More relaxed than resort venues, and Glenn organises local catering (conch salad, grilled fish, rum punch) for an authentic Bahamian celebration.
Cost: Small park reservation fee. Glenn handles catering coordination.

6. Blue Lagoon Island (Salt Cay)
A private island a short boat ride from Nassau. Blue Lagoon offers a true island-escape wedding with white sand, turquoise water, and no other tourists. The island has dolphin encounters and sea lion programmes, so your guests have activities between the ceremony and reception. Glenn coordinates the boat transfers and ceremony setup. Available as a half-day or full-day island booking.
Cost: Island hire from $3,000-$8,000 depending on group size and duration.
Paradise Island Wedding Locations โ Atlantis, Ocean Club & Cabbage Beach
Connected to Nassau by two bridges, Paradise Island is home to the most recognisable resorts in the Bahamas. Glenn has officiated weddings at every Paradise Island venue โ from the grand ballrooms of Atlantis to barefoot elopements on Cabbage Beach to the historic Cloisters gardens at the Four Seasons Ocean Club.

7. Atlantis Paradise Island
The most recognised resort in the Bahamas. Atlantis offers multiple wedding venues: Ocean's Edge at The Cove (Glenn's favourite โ an outdoor terrace overlooking the ocean), The Royal Overlook with harbour views, Cabbage Beach beachfront, and grand ballrooms for large receptions. Glenn is an Atlantis wedding specialist and works directly with the events team.
Cost: Atlantis packages: Seaside Serenade, Ocean's Edge, Royal Azure. Venue fees from $3,000+.

8. The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort
The most exclusive resort in the Bahamas. The Ocean Club occupies the north shore of Paradise Island with colonial-manor architecture, Versailles-inspired gardens, and Dune restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The signature ceremony location is The Cloisters โ a 14th-century French monastery reconstructed stone by stone on the island's highest point with ocean views in every direction. Glenn has officiated at The Cloisters many times and considers it the single most photogenic ceremony location in the Bahamas.
Cost: Premium venue fees. Packages from $10,000+.

9. Cabbage Beach, Paradise Island
A long public beach on the north side of Paradise Island, right next to Atlantis. Cabbage Beach has the classic Bahamas postcard look โ wide white sand, turquoise water, and palm trees. It's busier than Nuptial Beach but the eastern end near the Four Seasons Ocean Club is quieter. Glenn positions ceremonies in the late afternoon when the crowds thin and the light softens. Free to use โ no venue fee.
Cost: Free beach. Included in Glenn's elopement packages from $1,495.

Harbour Island Wedding Locations โ Pink Sand Beaches
Harbour Island (known locally as "Briland") is a 10-minute water taxi from North Eleuthera. It's famous for three miles of pink sand beach โ coloured by crushed coral and shells. Small, chic, and walkable. Glenn travels to Harbour Island for weddings and handles all logistics including the marriage license coordination from Nassau.

10. Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island
Three miles of naturally pink sand โ the most photographed beach in the Bahamas. The pink colour comes from crushed foraminifera (tiny red-shelled organisms) mixed with white sand and coral. Calm, shallow water on the Atlantic side. Glenn positions ceremonies in late afternoon when the pink sand glows warmest. This is the location couples travel specifically for โ there's nothing else like it in the Caribbean.
Cost: Beach is free. Glenn's Harbour Island packages include travel coordination.

11. Pink Sands Resort
The most famous boutique resort on Harbour Island. Pastel-coloured cottages nestled in tropical gardens, opening directly onto the pink sand beach. Pink Sands offers a relaxed, bohemian-chic atmosphere that appeals to couples who want intimacy over grandeur. The resort's restaurant serves Bahamian-Mediterranean fusion and can host reception dinners for up to 40. Glenn coordinates the ceremony on the resort's private beach section.
Cost: Resort venue fees apply. Contact Glenn for current rates and availability.
Exuma Wedding Locations โ Sandbars, Private Islands & Swimming Pigs
The Exumas are a chain of 365 islands and cays stretching 130 miles south of Nassau. This is where you'll find the clearest water in the Bahamas, the famous swimming pigs, sandbar weddings at low tide, and ultra-private island venues. Glenn serves as Exuma wedding planner and officiant, coordinating everything from Nassau.

12. Exuma Sandbar (Low-Tide Ceremony)
A sandbar ceremony is exactly what it sounds like โ you stand on a strip of white sand that appears at low tide, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise water in every direction. No land in sight, just ocean. Glenn coordinates the boat transfer, timing with the tide chart, and ceremony setup. This is the most photographed wedding style in the Exumas and one of the most popular requests he receives.
Cost: Boat charter and setup fees. Contact Glenn for Exuma packages.

13. Grand Isle Resort & Spa, Great Exuma
Oceanfront resort on Emerald Bay with 78 villas (1-4 bedrooms, 1,250-5,200 sq ft each with personal golf cart). Grand Isle features 23 North โ one of the newest wedding venues in the Bahamas. This water's-edge restaurant has an outdoor grand terrace for ceremonies and a high-ceiling dining room for receptions. Mile-long ivory beach. Glenn recommends Grand Isle for couples who want resort luxury with a more intimate feel than Nassau properties.
Cost: Venue fees and villa packages available. Contact Glenn for rates.
14. Private Cay Ceremony, Exuma Cays
For the ultimate exclusivity, Glenn can arrange a wedding on a private or uninhabited cay in the Exuma island chain. Arrive by boat or seaplane, exchange vows on a beach with no other humans in sight, and return to your resort. Some cays have eco-luxury villas (like The Other Side, Eleuthera-adjacent); others are completely wild. Glenn handles the logistics, permits, and transport for remote cay ceremonies.
Cost: Custom pricing based on cay, transport, and setup. Typically $5,000-$20,000+.
Exuma Planning โEleuthera Wedding Locations โ Secluded Luxury
Eleuthera is a 110-mile-long island known for pink sand beaches, Glass Window Bridge (where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean), and a quieter, more local pace. Glenn serves as Eleuthera wedding planner and officiant with over 20 years of experience on the island.

15. The Cove Eleuthera
An eco-chic beachside resort near Gregory Town. The Cove sits between two private beaches โ one calm Caribbean side, one Atlantic surf side. Clean modern architecture, on-site spa, oceanfront dining, and a culinary team that creates custom menus. Glenn recommends The Cove for couples who want seclusion and design-forward style without sacrificing amenities. Perfect for 2-80 guests.
Cost: Venue packages available. Contact Glenn for Eleuthera wedding pricing.

16. French Leave Resort, Governor's Harbour
A luxury resort on Governor's Harbour with a marina for yacht arrivals, water sports, and proximity to the Eleuthera All Jazz Festival and Bahamas International Film Festival (seasonal). French Leave is ideal for couples who want activities beyond the wedding โ boat charters, fishing, diving โ and a resort that can accommodate a full wedding weekend. Glenn coordinates multi-day celebrations here.
Cost: Resort packages available. Glenn handles coordination and officiant duties.
