Every Bahamas Wedding Venue: Honest Assessments from 24 Years of Ceremonies
Glenn works independently of every resort and venue. He takes no referral fees, no kickbacks, and no commissions. Every assessment below reflects 24 years and 200+ ceremonies at these locations.
"Most venue guides are written by people who get paid when you book a resort. I do not. I have performed ceremonies at every major venue in Nassau and across the Out Islands. Some are extraordinary. Some are beautiful but overpriced. Some look better in photos than they do in person. I am going to tell you which is which, because the right venue makes your wedding. The wrong one makes it something you have to work around."
Nuptial Beach, Cable Beach, Nassau
Why Glenn Recommends Nuptial Beach First
No venue hire fee. No mandatory resort booking. No minimum spend. The beach is yours for the ceremony and no one can tell you to move. The light from the west in the late afternoon is exceptional. Your photos will show the colour of the Bahamas at its most vivid.
It is also practical: located in Nassau rather than an outer island, which means the Registrar General's Office visit and the ceremony can happen the same day with priority licence processing. Most cruise ship couples choose Nuptial Beach for this reason.
What to Know Before Choosing
Cable Beach is a public beach. On busy days in peak season it is not completely deserted, though Glenn's ceremony area provides good separation from beachgoers. Couples wanting absolute guaranteed privacy may prefer a resort terrace or an Out Island location. For elopements and small ceremonies it is the best value-to-experience ratio available in the Bahamas.
Atlantis Paradise Island
Glenn's Honest Assessment
Atlantis works best when you have guests coming from multiple cities. The resort keeps everyone in one place with activities, so your wedding weekend is easy to manage. The Cove Beach at Atlantis is genuinely beautiful and less busy than the main beach.
For elopements and small ceremonies, I usually recommend Nuptial Beach instead. The atmosphere is equally beautiful, is equally beautiful, there is no resort venue fee, and you do not need to coordinate with the resort's in-house team. For larger weddings where the guest experience matters, Atlantis earns its reputation.
Baha Mar: Grand Hyatt, Rosewood, and SLS
Baha Mar is a 1,000-acre resort complex on Cable Beach housing three distinct hotels. Each has its own character and wedding offerings. Glenn has dedicated venue guides for all three.
Which Baha Mar Hotel Should You Choose?
Grand Hyatt if you have a large group, want the most amenities and room options, and are comfortable with a high-energy resort environment.
Rosewood if you want the most refined experience, a quieter beach, and an adult-focused atmosphere. The best choice for elopements and small weddings within the Baha Mar complex.
SLS if you want guaranteed exclusivity (one wedding per day), a boutique feel, and a venue that consistently wins awards. Premium over the others but worth it for the right couple.
Four Seasons Ocean Club
Glenn's Assessment
The Four Seasons is exceptional for couples who want the quietest, most refined experience available in Nassau. It does not have the scale of Atlantis or the energy of Baha Mar. That is precisely its appeal. The Versailles Gardens provide a genuinely unique setting that photographs beautifully.
It is the most expensive option and requires a stay commitment. Best for intimate weddings where quality of experience matters more than the number of on-site amenities. Couples who have stayed at Four Seasons properties before will feel immediately at home.
Harbour Island, Pink Sand Beach
Why Couples Choose Harbour Island
The pink sand is not a filter or a Photoshop effect. It is real, and it photographs unlike anything else in the Caribbean. If you have seen images of Harbour Island's beach and thought it looks too perfect, it does look that way in person too.
The island itself has a small-town charm with excellent boutique hotels, fewer than 2,000 residents, and no chain restaurants. It is the Bahamas before mass tourism arrived, and it remains that way because it is deliberately hard to reach at scale.
Planning Considerations
Harbour Island ceremonies require slightly more logistics than Nassau. The licence is obtained in Nassau and the ceremony is on Harbour Island, with Glenn coordinating the travel in between. Couples typically build a 3-night stay on the island around the wedding. Glenn has performed dozens of ceremonies here and knows every boutique hotel and ceremony spot. No standard Harbour Island pricing includes a $200 deposit. Glenn's packages are priced as listed.
Exuma, Eleuthera, and Private Island Weddings
For couples who want true remoteness: no hotels in the background, no beachgoers, just open ocean and untouched sand. Glenn coordinates access to Out Island and private cay locations across the Bahamas.
Exuma Private Cays
Private IslandThe Exuma cays are 365 mostly uninhabited islands stretching 130 miles south of Nassau. Certiain private cays are available for ceremony access. Glenn coordinates the boat or float plane transfer from Nassau. The setting is genuinely remote. Just turquoise water, white sand, and the two of you.
Exuma Wedding Guide →Eleuthera
Out IslandA 110-mile-long narrow island with some of the most dramatic beach scenery in the Bahamas. The Glass Window Bridge where the dark Atlantic meets the turquoise Caribbean, French Leave Beach, and Lighthouse Beach. Accessible by short flight from Nassau. Glenn performs ceremonies at multiple Eleuthera locations.
Eleuthera Wedding Guide →Bimini
Out IslandThe closest Bahamas island to Florida, 50 miles from Miami. Bimini is famous for its deep-sea fishing heritage and the Hemingway connection, but it also offers beautiful sheltered beaches and a laid-back atmosphere unlike the busy Nassau resort scene. Popular with Florida-based couples.
Bimini Wedding Guide →"The Out Islands are where the Bahamas that most tourists never see lives. Exuma in particular. The cays south of Staniel Cay where the water is so clear you can see the bottom in 20 feet of depth. I have performed ceremonies there that couples have told me were unlike anything they could have imagined. But they require more planning, more logistics, and more time. If you want true remoteness, call me early."

Beach Wedding vs Resort Wedding in the Bahamas
The two biggest venue categories in the Bahamas serve very different couples. Here is how to decide.
Choose a Beach Ceremony If...
- ✓ You want to minimise total wedding cost
- ✓ You are eloping or have fewer than 25 guests
- ✓ You want to stay wherever suits you best
- ✓ Barefoot sand feels more you than a ballroom
- ✓ You want maximum photo quality (golden hour light)
- ✓ You are on a cruise and need same-day logistics
Choose a Resort Venue If...
- ✓ You have 30+ guests coming from different cities
- ✓ Guest experience and amenities matter
- ✓ You want a guaranteed private ceremony space
- ✓ You want a reception dinner immediately after
- ✓ One location for guests to sleep, eat, and celebrate
- ✓ Budget is not the primary constraint

For the most scenic beach in the entire Bahamas, Harbour Island's Pink Sand Beach is the answer, but it requires travel coordination and an overnight stay. For pure value and beauty within Nassau itself, Nuptial Beach is unmatched.
Private resort beach access is available for couples staying at a resort who want guaranteed exclusivity and the amenities of the property surrounding their ceremony space. Both options are covered by Glenn's packages.
Glenn can officiate at any Nassau resort as an independent Licensed Marriage Officer, which means you can book your preferred resort for accommodation and use Glenn's significantly lower-cost ceremony packages instead of the resort's in-house wedding coordinator. This often saves $5,000 to $10,000 USD on ceremony costs while maintaining the resort setting you want.
All three share the Cable Beach beachfront and the broader Baha Mar facilities. Glenn has performed ceremonies at all three and has dedicated venue guides for each. See the Baha Mar wedding guide for a full comparison.
Most couples planning a Harbour Island wedding build a 2 to 3 night stay on the island around the ceremony. The island has excellent boutique hotels. See the full Harbour Island wedding guide.
See the Exuma wedding guide for details on private cay ceremony options and logistics.
Ceremonies in the Bahamas must conclude before sunset under the Marriage Act. Glenn builds the timing into every ceremony plan so you never have to worry about running out of light.
