While the Bahamas is one of the easiest places in the world to get married, there are specific legal requirements under the Bahamian marriage laws that couples must fulfill. 

1. The legal age of marriage in The Bahamas is 18 years
2. A Bahamas marriage license is required.
3. Non-Bahamians must prove that they have been in The Bahamas for at least 24 hours before applying for a marriage license.
4. For couples getting married in Nassau, marriage licenses and certificates are issued at the office of the Registrar General in Nassau. Advanced license application appointments are required. 
5. If either party has been divorced, a certified copy or original final divorce decree must be produced. In cases where applicable, a valid, certified, translated, and notarized copy of the final decree is required as proof of divorce.
6. Officiant: Only Bahamas licensed marriage officers can perform the ceremony weddings in The Bahamas. 
7. Witnesses: Two witnesses are required to be present at the ceremony and sign the Duplicate Marriage Register Form 9.
