Your specialist
Glenn is the only professional in the Bahamas who holds a government-issued Marriage Officer licence, WPIC certification in wedding planning, and a BREA licence as a Bahamas real estate agent. He personally plans and officiates every ceremony across Nassau, Paradise Island, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Exuma, Abaco, and Grand Bahama. No assistants, no call centres. From your first WhatsApp to your certified marriage certificate and Apostille, you deal with Glenn at every step.
Couples ask which resort is most beautiful. That is not the right question. After 24 years and 200 ceremonies across seven islands, I can tell you: the resort that photographs best is rarely the one that delivers best on the day. The right venue depends on how the team responds at 6pm when something changes, whether vendors can actually reach it, how a 60-person group moves through one kitchen, and whether the intimacy you are paying for survives when 200 other guests check in that same weekend. I have worked inside every property on this list. That experience is what this tool is built on.

Common questions
Answers from Glenn Ferguson, based on 24 years and 200 ceremonies across 7 Bahamas islands.
The best Bahamas resort depends on your guest count, privacy preference, island, and budget. For large weddings of 75-plus guests, Baha Mar and Atlantis offer the most venue choice. For refined luxury with 25 to 250 guests, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, is the strongest choice. For ultra-private buyouts, Kamalame Cay, Caerula Mar Club, and The Potlatch Club are each exceptional. For boutique Harbour Island charm, Pink Sands Resort and The Dunmore both deliver. Use the finder above to get your personal top 3 in 60 seconds.
Resort packages at Atlantis, Baha Mar, and Sandals typically start from $8,000 before photography, officiant fees, and legal costs. Out Island buyouts at properties like Kamalame Cay, Caerula Mar Club, and The Potlatch Club range from $30,000 to $150,000 or more. Glenn Ferguson's all-inclusive packages, which cover the marriage licence, Licensed Marriage Officer ceremony, flowers, witnesses, transport, and certified certificate, start at $1,495 for elopements and reach $11,995 for a full reception for 50 guests. All Glenn's package prices include 10% Bahamas VAT with no hidden fees.
Yes. A Bahamas marriage licence is required for any legal ceremony at a resort or anywhere in The Bahamas. Both parties must be physically present in The Bahamas for at least 24 hours before applying. Applications cannot be made by mail. The licence fee is $120 USD, which includes one certified copy of the marriage certificate. Glenn's expedited 1-Hour Priority Licence Service can have your licence processed the same or next day, and he personally accompanies couples to the Registrar General's Office.
For peak season weddings between December and April, book 12 to 18 months in advance. The Ocean Club, Baha Mar, and Sandals Royal Bahamian fill quickly during this period. Out Island properties including Staniel Cay Yacht Club and Kamalame Cay can fill up to a year ahead regardless of season. For off-peak months from May to November, 6 to 9 months is usually sufficient. Glenn recommends securing your resort date and room block before approaching any vendors, as availability drives everything else in the planning timeline.
Yes. Couples from any country can legally marry at a Bahamas resort. Required documents include valid passports, a single-status affidavit sworn before a notary public in your home country, and if previously married, a certified divorce decree or death certificate. The marriage is recognised in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and most countries worldwide. Some US states require an Apostille. Glenn arranges Apostille certification through the Bahamas Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with typical processing of 5 to 7 business days and international courier delivery.
November through April is the most reliably comfortable period, with temperatures of 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, low humidity, and minimal rain. The Bahamas receives more than 300 days of sunshine annually. May through October is the off-peak and hurricane-season period, with lower resort rates and better venue availability. Glenn builds detailed weather contingency plans, including styled rain alternatives, for every ceremony regardless of season.
Nassau and Paradise Island resorts, including Baha Mar, Atlantis, and The Ocean Club, offer the widest venue choice, easiest guest access via direct international flights, and capacity for 300-plus guests. Out Island resorts including Kamalame Cay, Caerula Mar Club, The Potlatch Club, Staniel Cay Yacht Club, and Pink Sands Resort offer greater seclusion, more personal service, and stronger Bahamian authenticity, but require additional travel by small aircraft or boat. Out Island weddings cost more to execute logistically but typically produce a more distinctive and memorable guest experience.
