1. Residency

2. Identification
- Both parties must provide valid forms of identification issued by their country of birth or citizenship, such as a passport, birth certificate, and photo ID.
3. Declaration of singlehood
- If either party is getting married for the first time, they must provide an affidavit of singlehood from a notary public.
4. Bahamas Marriage License Application form
- Both persons must complete a Bahamas marriage license application declaration form and sign it in front of a Bahamas Justice of the Peace or Licensed Bahamas Marriage Officer
5. Interview
- Both parties must be present at the Registrar General's Office to apply for the license and undergo an interview.
6. Witnesses
- Two witnesses who are at least 18 years old must withnesss the wedding ceremony and sign the duplicate marriage register (Form 9) at the wedding ceremony. The Form 9 is submitted to the Registrar General's Office after the ceremony to generate the certified Bahamas marriage certificate.
- The Bahamas marriage license costs $100.00 and a certified copy of the Bahamas marriage certificate is $20.00.
- The Bahamas marriage license is valid for 90 days, so couples must get married within that time frame or reapply for a new license.
