It was interesting reading about Adam Scott's Albany Bahamas wedding in the online Hello Magazine in their article titled - "10 The Open Championship stars' weddings: Tiger Woods' $1.5m Bahamas blowout, Rory McIlroy's A-list guestlist & more." US Lifestyle Editor, Jenni McKnight, writes...

"The Open Championship 2023 is well underway at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England, and some of the world's best golfers are competing to take home a share of the $16.5 million purse – with the winner alone bagging a staggering $3 million and the coveted Claret Jug.

And one of the weddings featured was that of Adam Scott and his wife Marie Kojzar Albany Bahamas wedding. Jenni writes... 

"Australian golfer Adam Scott had a very low-key wedding, secretly tying the knot with Swedish architect, Marie Kojzar, in the backyard of his Bahamas home on April 17, 2014. The couple didn't even have an engagement and went straight for a ceremony, with the bride wearing a simple dress and the groom in a suit with a bow tie. "We just decided to get on with it. We've known each other long enough, let's go and jump right in the deep end," he told Australian Associated Press at the time. "She doesn't need a traditional wedding dress to look so beautiful. We dressed up a little bit, but it was still in the backyard."

I recall this wedding with fond memories as I was the officiant that perform the ceremony. I recall being called to a meeting at the couples' Albany Bahamas home to complete the paperwork for their Bahamas marriage license and plan their wedding ceremony. Adam and Marie were a very easy couple to work with and one of my really fun weddings.

It was planned for the backyard of their Albany Bahamas home and the wedding was a secret to the very last minute. As I mingled with the arriving guest, they all felt that they were just attending a dinner party and had no idea that it was actually a wedding. 

There was an artist in the backyard painting a mural of the couple that was intended to be completed just before I welcomed the guest. Once the painting was completed, I welcome the guest and asked every present to put away their cellphone as there was to be no picture-taking beyond that point. There was a hush that came over the guest as they were now realizing that something unexpected was about to happen and everyone was now looking to see what that may be.

I then welcome Adam to the front and Marie soon joined us for their brief wedding ceremony, which was simply a celebration of love.
